Marjorie Rosenberg will discuss Teaching to Learners of all Styles

Have you ever wondered what makes your students tick? Part of the secret may well be their individual learning styles. The workshop will begin with the concept of learning styles and examine what they are as well as what they are not. We will then move on to three specific models including examples of both learner and teacher characteristics. Participants will be encouraged to think about their own styles and the impact this has on their teaching. A number of activities for the classroom will be presented and their use in the classroom discussed. At the end of the workshop we will discuss the concept of both ‘harmonising’ and ‘challenging’ learners in order to provide the basis for the development of learner strategies and to help learners to stretch out of their normal comfort zones, two factors which can contribute to their success.
