I have just been promoted to head of the langauge department at my school. This means that I am in charge of all major decisions concerning the language techers at my school. The group I will head consist of 10 teachers.

I am also in charge of our school's Cambridge English Courses (the highest level at which you can larn English at a Swedish Upper Secondary).

I am since March this year a happy member of two communities on the internet where I get the opportunity to teach online; Livemocha and Verbalplanet. If you want to you can enter those pages and see my recommendations. I get very high points and it seems I am doing a good job teaching online. Both Livemocha and Verbalplanet are sites where people from all over the world are interested in teaching and / or learning other languages.

I was responsible for the English Department and launched a project which we gave the name "Spetsengelska". This was a special program for pupils interested in devoting much time and effort into learning advanced English. The program was a huge success, and actually, it turned out that half of the pupils at Kunskapsskolan chose to sign in. At the end of the program we went for a very interesting journey to London.

During a period of three years I enjoyed the benefit of teaching young students (from the ages of 11-19) with Asperger Syndrome and Autism all subjects they were supposed to learn at school, ranging from natural sciences, social sciences, Mathematics and languages. To my assistance I had four employees who answered to me. As you might understand teaching under such circumstances meant a lot of development in teaching and reaching out to the pupils.

I have been working at old people's homes off and on for a period of more than15 years. This experience has given me much insight into treating people with different needs and I think that I have benefitted a lot from having worked within the health care sector, especially now that I work as a teacher.
