We’ve all had teachers who have inspired us, teachers who made us want to be better learners. But what exactly do they do and how can WE become the same?

Join us for a discussion about the 10 things that truly great teachers do for their students. 

About the Instructor:

Eric Kane
Shiga, Japan

Eric is a teacher, teacher trainer and author with 20 years of experience. He is the founder and president of ELF Learning, an education company based in Japan which creates music, video and materials for young learners. ELF’s publications include the Think Read Write Series, ELF Kids’ Songs 1 and 2, BUBBLES Card Game, Lily and the Moon and several learning apps.

Eric also creates content for ELF’s YouTube Channel for children, which currently has over 50 million views. Eric has given many presentations at the local, regional and national level in Japan, Indonesia and Korea on a variety of topics related to the young learner classroom.

About the host:

Jason R. Levine

(NEW YORK, United States)

Jason R Levine (Jase, for short) is Ambassador and Knowledge Entertainer at WizIQ, where he recruits teachers and develops courses. He has eighteen years of experience as an English teacher, teacher trainer, and materials writer. Jase is the creator of ColloLearn, an approach to English language learning based on the songs he writes and performs as Fluency MC. He has led teacher training programs in sixteen countries in Europe, the Americas, Africa, and the Middle East.

Jase writes songs and chants for several publishers, including Oxford University Press. He is chair of TESOL’s Video and Digital Media Interest Section and works as an English Specialist with the U.S. Department of State.

After earning an MA in TESOL from Hunter College in 1999, Jase taught at several schools before becoming the director of curriculum development for Embassy CES. In 2002, he co-founded a TOEFL preparation school for international students in New York City.

Jase maintains the ColloLearn YouTube channel and the Fluency MC Facebook page. He is an active administrator of over a dozen Facebook groups for English language teachers and learners, including Innovative Teachers of English and Teachers Teaching Online.
