Course Description

This is an open ongoing course for teachers who wish to teach blended and fully online programs. Participants will receive one-on-one mentorship so they can practice using technology, learn and teach their students how to present work, reflect, and get support from the instructor. Participants will be able to take the course at their own pace.

Integrating Technology for Active Lifelong Learning or IT4ALL is an organization that provides free to low cost programs on how to integrate technology into blended, fully online, and face-to-face learning environments. IT4ALL has a WizIQ organization account. IT4ALL hosts all their free programs such as Moodle MOOCs, Healthy Living and Sustainable MOOCs, Second Life MOOCs, Connecting Online conferences (2009-15), Moodle MOOTs (2011-2015), Spring and Fall Blog Festivals (SBF/FBF), webinars, and online courses on WizIQ and on Moodle for Teachers (website).

IT4ALL is run by Dr. Nellie Deutsch an education technology & marketing consultant.

Nellie Deutsch (Ed.D) combines teaching as a way to learn, education technology, and mindfulness. She’s internationally known as a relationship-based coach, mentor, consultant, researcher, author, speaker, community builder, expert in educational technology for fully online and blended learning programs using Moodle, WizIQ, Google drive and active learning presentation tools that focus on teaching as a way to learn.

Her speaking engagements include technology for instruction and learning, collaborative learning, mindfulness, self-compassion, and authenticity. She organizes MOOCs, free online conferences, webinars, and courses for educators worldwide. She’s been teaching English as a foreign language in high school and higher education for 35 years. She is faculty at Atlantic University Masters of Arts in transpersonal leadership studies fully online .

Dr. Nellie Deutsch (Ed.D) is internationally known as a relationship-based mentor, researcher, writer, speaker, community builder, expert in teaching with technology, Moodle, and WizIQ live classes. She teaches subjects related to mindfulness practice, online personal and professional development, and action research to educators worldwide. She’s been teaching English as a foreign language in high school and higher education for over 35 years. She’s an instructor at Atlantic University Masters of Arts in Transpersonal and leadership studies, speaks at online and face-to-face conferences, and organizes informal MOOCs and free online courses and webinars on WizIQ education online and Moodle for Teachers.

Dr. Deutsch follows a relationship-based collaborative active learning approach to instruction and learning and teaching as a way to learn. Her experiential humanitarian approach to instruction and learning has earned her the respect of educators around the globe and attracted her to healthy living and healing. She's an accredited PAIRS (Practical Application of Intimate Relationship Skills), conflict resolution, and Reiki practitioner. She practices and teaches Mindfulness Meditation and the Alexander Technique.

Nellie provides consultation on teaching with technology, mobile devices in the classroom, Moodle (course and learning management system), Google Drive, and WizIQ. She is the founder and owner of Integrating Technology for Active Lifelong Learning (IT4ALL) community of educators, Moodle for Teachers (M4T) network, Connecting Online and MoodleMoot annual virtual conferences, and Moodle MOOCs on WizIQ (bi- annual). She is currently on the steering committee of TESOL CALL-IS, community manager on the TESOL Secondary School Interest Section, program coordinator at WAOE (World Association of Online Education), on the program committee and executive committee of EdMedia at AACE (Advancement of Computing in Education), on IATEFL YLT SIG committee, and on the coordinating team of Electronic Village Online (EVO) TESOL.
