Course Description
Students are going to learn some target vocabulary through a matching activity before watching each episode.
Next, they will be given some questions they will have to answer after watching the episode.
The first viewing will help students understand the gist of the episode.
Segments of the same episode will be played along with each question in order to allow students to understand as many details as possible.
Idiomatic language will be underlined as it is used in each episode.
Students will also be engaged in a discussion about some episode realted topics (as diversity in the workplace) as followup.
The course is aimed at college/university students and young adults with upper intermediate language skills. The class size is limited to 5 students in order to enhance interaction within each other and the teacher. In case of higher demand a new group will be created.
What makes this course unique is the possibility to see the language in action as it is used in a real context and to learn while watching one of the most popular American shows. Moreover learners will have the possibility to practice their listening, writing and speaking skills, but not in a traditional classroom settings, but in an enjoyable and fun way.
12 classes, 90 minutes each (total 18h), 6 weeks on Thursday and Friday 1.30PM-3.00PM ET from July 18 to August 23
