About Rebecca Ferriday

I've worked in education for hundreds of years, initially as an Adult Basic Skills tutor (teaching literacy, numeracy, basic ICT and ESOL sessions) then as a Teacher Educator specialising in English Language. I now work as a Learning Technologist in FE and HE but also run iBex Education, where I run sessions on WizIQ and in Second Life looking at mobile learning, web 2.0 in education, virtual worlds in teaching, learning and assessment and the use of Facebook in education.

I also run regular and ON DEMAND sessions looking at linguistic concepts such as English language acquisition, language and gender, orthography (grammar, spelling and punctuation) and conversational English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).

Taster sessions are free, but I do charge for requested sessions and courses, group and one to one tuition.

Testimonials
by Priscilla _ posted on 04 November, 2011

This was an excellent introduction to what Second Life (SL) is and how to think about teaching, learning, and/or participating in this format. Rebecca was very thorough in explaining her approach and the benefits students receive by participating allowing them to become comfortable in an environment free of judgments. This seems like a perfect solution for authentic assessments. For all that did not participate live in this session, I would encourage a definite look at the recording. Thanks again, until my next POST, this is Priscilla with S.E.E. Speak Excellent English
