About umm sharif
(Prophet Ibraaheem - 'alaihis salaam said) "...And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me...." Here he attributed sickness to himself, even though it is Allaah Who decrees it, out of respect towards Allaah.

"And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me..." meaning, 'when I fall sick, no one is able to heal me but Him, Who heals me with the means that may lead to recovery.' - {Tafseer Ibn Katheer}

"...But when faith weakens, so weakens the self aceptance of Shari'ah cures. People nowadays place more trust in physical remedies than remedies prescribed by the Shari'ah. When a person's faith is strong, the Shari'ah remedy is more effective and faster in results than other cures."

Shaykh al 'Uthaymeen rahimahullaah
