He's thinking about women. Anything else? Yes, he is also thinking about glasses of beer. 7 When he closes his eyes, who retire? The doggies retire. What are the doggies? I don't know what the doggies are. Who were his only companions? His horse and his cattle.Then, who are the doggies in this story? It must be the cattle because there is only one horse. 8 Does he sing loud and bad? No, it isn't loud but, it's soft and clear. 9 Why does he sing it nicely? The cattle don't care. It's as if, someone could hear. 10 Who are the ladies? The "someones" who might hear. 11 What is "rock-a-bye"? An idiom for a soothing song or lullaby. Step 7 Recite (rehearse) questions and answers with a friend. Step 8 Come to class and participate in conversation about the song. Remember to have some opinions and ideas about why you liked this song.
