الضَّمَائِر Pronouns Singulars Independent Suffix هُوَ ـهُ 3rd Person Masculine He/His/Him هِيَ ـهَا 3rd Person Feminine She/Her أَنْتَ ـكَ 2nd Person Masculine You/Your أَنْتِ ـكِ 2nd Person Feminine You/Your أَنَا ـِيْ 1st Person I/My/Me Plurals Independent Suffix هُمْ ـهُمْ 3rd Person Masculine They/Their/Them هُنَّ ـهنَّ 3rd Person Feminine They/Their/Them أَنْتُمْ-ُ ـكُمْ 2nd Person Masculine “Y’all”/Your أَنْتُنَّ ـكُنَّ 2nd Person Feminine “Y’all”/Your نَحْنُ ـنَا 1st Person We/Our/Us Duals Independent Suffix هُمَا ـهُمَا 3rd Person They/Their/Them أَنْتُمَا ـكُمَا 2nd Person “Y’all”/Your Notes Pronoun Suffix + Nouns: When a pronoun suffix is attached to a noun it becomes a Possessive Pronoun. Possessive Pronouns indicate ownership My book كِتَابٌ + أَنَا = كِتَابِي My book is new كِتَابِي جَدِيدٌ Pronoun Suffix + Verbs: When a pronoun suffix is attached to a verb, it indicates the Direct Object of the Verb (who or what is receiving the action) “She hit him” ضَرَبَتْ + هُوَ = ضَرَبَتْهُ ـه - Direct Object of the Verb. “Him” **When the 1st person singular pronoun suffix is attached to a verb a “ن” is added before the pronoun suffix.
