INTRODUCTION: : INTRODUCTION: Aviation Industry in India is fastest growing aviation industries in the world. Originated in 1912. First Indian airline was Tata airlines. IAC, IA & Vayuduth dominated Indian aviation till mid-1990s.

Contd.. : Contd.. Types- Cargo, Military,Passenger In 1994- Private operators were allowed to provide services. Such as Jet airways,deccan,Go airways. FDI is 49%, NRI investment is 74-100%.

Indian Senerio : Indian Senerio Aviation Sector is Plagued with several problems. High ATF (Aviation Turbine Fuel) Prices is taking its toll on the industry. It’s a global scenario. Rising Labor costs and Shortage of Skilled labors is another reason.

Contd : Contd Industry has reported a cumulative loss of Rs 4000 crore in 2007-08. Losses is set to double this fiscal. The eye of the storm lies in the faulty business models. Airlines are not able to break even.

Contd.. : Contd.. Airlines are struggling to fill seats . Airlines have started to lease the planes and also canceling the delivery orders in order to cut costs. In 2004-05 AN ARTIFICIAL GROWTH HAS TAKEN PLACE.

What is the way out? : What is the way out? Slicing the pie isn’t the only solution. Increasing fares and lowering costs has made little impact. Airlines has to expand the consumer base.

Critical analysis and Conclusion. : Critical analysis and Conclusion. The major set back in Indian Aviation industry is the INFRASTRUCTURE constraint. Airport Infrastructure up gradation is the need of the hour. Some steps have already been taken.

Continued : Continued Who is Bearing the Brunt of this crisis? The domestic private sector players also to be blamed. Investments are pouring in. Future looks Bright.
