Man, being the latest intelligent species of the earth; has been trying to alleviate sufferings by several methodologies and outcome is the MEDICAL SCIENCE.
Since ancient times medicine from all the corners of the world came up with different theories.
He is exploring/exploiting nature in different ways by discovering/ inventing various therapies.

Master Hahnemann (1755 – 1843), the gem of German medical profession found the above were instead of curing they were either palliating or suppressing or causing some artificial, drug - induced diseases in the individuals and the cases were becoming more and more complicated.

While translating Cullen’s Materia Medica he found a statement that ague fever (Malaria) could be cured by Cinchona bark for it’s bitter and pungent taste!!!. Spark …! Spark…! Like an Apple to Newton, Hahnemann questioned that theory.
Spark…contd. : Dr.S.K.M.SASTRY M.D(Hom.) Spark…contd. He did not find logic in it. He took the decoction of cinchona (peruvian) bark for few days for himself and he developed the chills, fever and sweat which resembled ague (now Malaria) fever.
Then he thought that the similar symptoms of cinchona had the capacity to cure ague fever. He verified it by repeating this experiment on several individuals with several substances and found that the similar symptoms could cure similar diseases.
It was a great discovery for the suffering mankind in the history of medicine.

When a medicine, which had no relation to the disease, was administered, Hahnemann ruled out any possibility of a cure
Antipathy : Dr.S.K.M.SASTRY M.D(Hom.) Antipathy In the Antipathy method of medicine, medicine whose induced symptoms were in opposition to those of the given disease was administered. For instance, a patient with constipation was prescribed a purgative or a patient with oedema was prescribed a diuretic, etc. On account of this, the symptoms were temporarily alleviated- as long as the effect of the medicine lasted. After that there would be a relapse, some times in a more aggravated form. So, Hahnemann ruled out this method also
