Slide 2 : The Meta Description Tag
The meta description tag allows you to influence the description of your page in the crawlers that support the tag.
A web crawler (also known as a web spider, web robot, or—especially in the FOAF community—web scutter) is a program or automated script which browses the World Wide Web in a methodical, automated manner. Other less frequently used names for web crawlers are ants, automatic indexers, bots, and worms.
Slide 3 : There are three important characteristics of the Web that generate a scenario in which Web crawling is very difficult:
its large volume,
its fast rate of change, and
dynamic page generation, which combine to produce a wide variety of possible crawlable URLs.
