Phonics 1--Symbols used to pronunce English corrctly
Description
English words cannot be pronounced from the spelling of the words. There are more sounds than letters; consequently, some letters have more than one sound. Dictionaries have designed a system of symbols to indicate all the sounds of English. This is a discussion of those sounds and what they sound like.
