Genders : Genders письмо (n) = a letter телефон (m) = a telephone книга (f) = a book газета (f) = a newspaper журнал (m) = a magazine ручка (f) = a pen утро (n) = a morning стол (m) = a table стул (m) = a chair For more information about genders: http://www.easyrussian.info/nouns-genders/ Masculine nouns end in a consonant. Feminine nouns end in a or я. Neuter nous end in o or e. большой = big (masculine) большая = big (feminine) большое = big (neuter) хороший = good (masculine) хорошая = good (feminine) хорошее = good (neuter)

Conjugation in the present: « работать » : Conjugation in the present: « работать » Я работаю Ты работаешь Он (она) работает Мы работаем Вы работаете Они работают Most verbs ending in –ать, are conjugated like «работать». Conjugation in the present: «говорить» : Conjugation in the present: «говорить» я говорю = I speak ты говоришь = you speak (informal) он (она) говорит = he (she) speaks мы говорим = we speak вы говорите = you speak (formal) они говорят = they speak Most verbs ending in –ать, are conjugated like «работать». The Prepositional Case : The Prepositional Case Я живу в Москве. = I live in Moscow. Я работаю в школе. = I work at school. Сергей работает в банке. = Sergey works in a bank. We use the Prepositional case to say that something is in, at, or on a place. The ending for nouns in this case is always –e, no matter if they are masculine, feminine or neuter. The Accusative Case : The Accusative Case Я люблю хлеб. (masculine) Я люблю молоко. (neuter) Я люблю яблоки. (plural) Я люблю рыбу. (feminine) The Accusative case is often used for direct objects. Masculine, neuter and plural nouns don’t change. Feminine nouns change (a becomes у). These rules only apply to inanimate nous (things).
