The WEB (a.k.a www) began in 1989 at CERN( European centre for nuclear research).
In 1994, CERN and M.I.T signed an agreement setting up the W3C(World Wide Web Consortium: www.w3c.org)

Web Page : 4 Web Page Web is a worldwide collection of documents also referred to as pages.
Idea of one page pointing to anther is called hypertext.

In a web page, string of text that are links of other pages which are often highlighted by underline and displaying them in a special color is called HYPERLINK .
