Elementary English Course for Children 1 Course Description: This is an elementary English course designed to help children, who are already familiar with basic question and answer patterns, grammatical structures and English vocabulary, improve their English communication skills and learn about third person plural forms and the present continuous tense. Course Goal: The goal of this course is to provide students with the opportunity to improve their reading, writing, listening and conversation skills and to bring about an awareness of cultural differences. Course Objectives: At the end of the course, students should be able to: say hello and goodbye in different ways. describe school activities. identify and ask about the locations of school objects. talk about possessions. describe and ask about abilities. identify the possessions of others. ask about possessions and express their locations. ask about and give personal information. clarify the locations of furniture. ask about and express wants and likes. ask about preferences and quantity. ask about someone’s health. describe and ask about daily activities. make statements and ask about occupations. identify themselves and others by occupation. determine locations and make invitations. express and ask about locations of people. clarify occupations and locations of people. express and ask about what people are doing. express and ask about the frequency of daily activities. express and ask about after-school activities.
