Participate in a live web conference on WiZiQ with a partner. To participate fully, you’ll need speakers and a microphone on your computer. You should already have created an account on www.wiZiQ.com so when you go to the WiZiQ site your profile page should appear. You can take the time to explore some of the functions of WiZiQ while there so you can discuss them with your partner. Click on the Teach tab at the top, then click on schedule a class. Prior to running your mini-web session decide if you are going to upload a picture or PowerPoint slide as part of your experience. If so, have that ready on your desktop. Decide on a mini-agenda, for example, discussing what you have explored on the WiziQ site and together exploring functions of the web conference, discussing the readings & videos from this week, etc. Click on Schedule a Class (you can either click on "Schedule for right now" if you set up a time with your partner in advance or you can fill in the date and time you want to meet with your partner). Click on the "Schedule and Continue" button. In the Invite Attendees box, scroll down to the statement, "Invite by entering email address or from webmail account", click on that. Scroll up to and click on the box entitled "Enter email address or from webmail account". That statement will disappear and you can type your partner's email address. Under the box, click on "Add to list". Scroll down and click on the button entitled, "Invite Contacts". Scroll up to the button and click on "Launch Class" Once in your class you must allow the website access to your mic and/or webcam. You then wait for your partner to enter the class and must click up right to allow their mic to function. You should be set to explore some functions of the web conference. You can test your microphone and webcam as you did in our first conference. Your partner must run the identical conference with you so that you each have the experience from the teacher perspective. When you have completed both web conferences, be prepared to report out: a) what you explored, B) what you liked, c) what was frustrating, d) what application ideas there might be for educators such as yourself. You can each submit separate reports or one of you can submit for both of you for a partner-grade. If you submit one report make sure you list both of your names someone on it. Post your report on the News Forum entitled, "Reports on Web Conferences" where you will also find your assigned partner. This is due by Saturday July 24th. : Participate in a live web conference on WiZiQ with a partner. To participate fully, you’ll need speakers and a microphone on your computer.
