Metal Recommendation to Manufacturer

Your Task: You are given one hour to determine the order of reactivity of the metals and then suggest a metal. Samples of three known metals iron, magnesium zinc and and unknown sample metal X was passed to you and you are required to write a report on your investigation on all the metals. Available in your laboratory is a datalogger with a temperature probe, some dilute hydrochloric acid, test tubes, measuring cylinder and a beaker which you can use to help you in this task. Get into groups of fours to do this task quickly. Appoint the following personnel: a. Group Leader – lead in the group discussion and present findings later on b. IT recorder – type report into the laptop c. 2 Researchers – do the experiment Write a laboratory report of your findings to support the metal that you would suggest to the manufacturer.
