Meaning of the Word ('Aqala)

QM دM ت P نN اء م M جM ر .O هPنN وا م O هMقPفMيM و O لوه ONقP عMيN (الطبري): ل Word of the Day Allaah -the Most High -says in His Book in Soorat Yoosuf (12):2, the meaning of which is: } M لون ONقP عM ت P كمO لlM لعl يا mNبM رM ا ع n آن P رO ق O اه MنPلM نز M نا أ lN { إ "Verily, We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur'aan in order that you may understand.” And we extract from this verse, the verb } & لون () ق+ ع& { ت And it is from the verb } & ل& ق& { عAnd from the root { ع -ق -ل }And its linguistic meaning is } & ك& ر+ د& و أ & م)ل& ع & و & م) ه& { ف to comprehend, understand, come to know And its meaning according to the Sharee'ah is: (As-Sa'dee) In order that you understand its (the Qur'aan's) rulings and its principles and its branches (of knowledge and legislative rulings) and its commandments and prohibitions. Therefore, if you all understood this with certainty, your hearts would be marked by that which it contains of knowledge resulting in the action of the limbs (in accordance with it) and compliance to it. } M لون ONقP عM ت P مO لكlM عM { ل "In order that you may understand" Meaning: Your understanding increases by way of the repetition of its noble and exalted meanings upon your mind; so you shift from one state of being to more excellent and complete states of being. (Al-Qurtubee) Meaning: in order that you know its meanings and you understand that which it contains. And it is said: } M لون ONقP عM ت P مO لكlM عM { ل "In order that you may understand" Meaning: in order that you be hopeful from pondering and reflecting over it. (At-Tabaree) In order that you understand it and gain knowledge from it.
