Introduction : Introduction Harnessing power? To gain control over a specific thing and use it efficiently and effectively. Industrial Revolution? The transformation of manual labor to machines and factories.

Before The Industrial Revolution : Before The Industrial Revolution -people were working as farmers, scribes, or craftsmen. lived a more humble life, with beliefs and light entertainment their main concern was getting food for themselves and their families. people have discovered cures and mathematic measurements but none of their techniques or thinking could be categorized as science.

SCIENTIFIC THINKING ARISING : SCIENTIFIC THINKING ARISING Francis Bacon (1561- 1626)inspired by the process of observation and experimentation applied inductive thinking and scientific process to his theories. From here, people’s way of thinking started to shift from the philosophical approach to inductive reasoning. “technology was given the same importance as pure science and philosophy”.

Steam Engine Innovation : Steam Engine Innovation Great thinkers and inventors such as Denis Papin who contributed to birth of the the “steam engine” had a great influence at that period. Denis Papin (1647- 1712) Thomas Newcomen ( 1663- 1729) James Watt (1736-1819)

Industrial transition : Industrial transition Shift in economic growth. Enhancement of introduced services. Urbanization.

Production Line : Production Line Ransom Eli Olds (1864-1950) Amanda Theodosia Jones (1835- 1914) Margret Knight (1838-1914)

Labor description : Labor description Poor housing and bad health care. people of the era divided upon viewing the industrial revolution. contemporary historians are also divided.

The Golden age : The Golden age People were mainly fascinated by electricity and electric motors in this century. Benjamin Franklin (1706- 1790) was one of the aspirations who contributed to electricity.

Emerge of Science : Emerge of Science Science became a very popular study at that time “unlike the previous century scientist became paid professions” Electronics were favored in the U.S because of its low population, Thomas Edison (1847- 1931)invented the phonograph and other machines that benefited US industries.

Inventions : Inventions Scientific advance and amateur tinkering Pecuniary motives. Government interest in education.

Place of occurrence : Place of occurrence Europe Bad condition. Buoyancy in the British economy. No invasion to England in this period. No political prosperity, but good government control.

Science vs. Technology : Science vs. Technology Science and technology did only rely on each other but they were cumulative Technology has contributed to many science discoveries in this era, such as x-rays; but science discoveries such as electricity has also improved technology. Many ideas were opposed by the public at first, especially those who had strong beliefs “The relationship between scientific education and technological progress became fully understood during the 19th century”.
