If you are at present student or just finished your grade 12 + in India
Great opportunity for you to upgrade your degree or diploma to a Canadian credentials.
Slide 11 : If you are not a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada or a family member of a foreign representative accredited to Canada or a member of the armed forces of a country that is a designated state for the purpose of the Visiting Forces Act, you must obtain a study permit to study in Canada.

A study permit is not needed for:
any program of study that is six months or less that can be completed within the period authorized upon entry into Canada
If your program of study is six months or less : If your program of study is six months or less But you intend to continue your studies in another program you should apply for a study permit before coming to Canada.
This will allow you to apply to extend your stay as a student from within Canada.
Otherwise, if you do not hold a study permit you will have to apply for one outside Canada
When should I apply ? : When should I apply ? The time required to process an application to study in Canada may vary at different visa offices.
You should apply as soon as you receive your letter of acceptance from the educational institution.

A Canadian bank account in your name if money has been transferred to Canada;
your bank statements for the past four months;
a bank draft in convertible currency;
proof of payment of tuition and residence fees;
for those with a scholarship or those with a Canadian funded educational program: proof of funding paid from within Canada.

Student Partners Program
Student Partners Program 2010 : Student Partners Program 2010 This application is submitted under the Student Partners Programs (SPP) of the Association of Canadian Community Colleges and the Canadian Immigration Programs in New Delhi and Chandigarh.

APPLICATION DEADLINE : APPLICATION DEADLINE Strongly recommended
That you submit your application by 01 August, 2010 for September entry
and
By 01 December, 2010 for January entry.
Applications submitted after 20 August and 20 December will not normally be processed in time for the start of class and will likely be refused.

Subsequent applications for the same semester following a refusal will NOT form part of SPP processing.
Slide 28 : PRE-APPLICATION MEDICAL EXAMINATION
As of 31 March, 2010, students applying under SPP may have their medical examination before submitting their Study Permit application.

SPP Checklist – Ensure you attach this checklist as a cover sheet on your application so that your application is recognized as being submitted under the SPP.

Letter of acceptance from SPP partner institution showing planned start and end date of program and any conditions upon acceptance into program
Use of a Representative form (IMM 5476)

IELTS test results taken within last 24 months with overall band not less than 6.0
Photocopy of the most recent diploma/leaving certificate, and most recent mark sheets
SET III : SET III Copy of receipts
For payment provided by the SPP partner institution (pre- payment of first term is recommended)
Slide 33 : Copy of an Educational Loan from an Indian Chartered Bank equivalent to at least 80% of tuition + living + travel expenses
For one academic year (normally, first year’s tuition, unless already paid, plus $8000).
SET IV : SET IV Copy of medical examination form IMM1017 if you opted to undergo a medical examination before submitting your application.
DO NOT PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS UNLESS REQUESTED TO DO SO BY A VISA OFFICER.
APPLICATIONS WHICH DO NOT FOLLOW THIS INSTRUCTION WILL NOT BE GIVEN PRIORITY PROCESSING UNDER SPP.
