Verbs : Verbs Verbs indicate actions, they can be in past,
present or future. We use red to identify
verbs.
She works in a magazine.
They went to the beach.
We will go to the movies.
Adjectives : Adjectives Adjectives describe nouns or things, they
are also used to describe emotions,
appearance and situations. We use blue to
identify adjectives.
He is sad.
He is very tall.
That was strange.
Nouns : Nouns Nouns are words that can be used to refer to
a person or place or thing. We use black to
identify nouns.
The game was cancelled.
The book is on the desk.
There was a problem.
Adverbs : Adverbs Adverbs describe actions (verbs), they tell
how the actions are done. We use orange
to identify the adverbs.
They work carefully.
She types slowly.
He works fast.
Prepositions : Prepositions Prepositions connect verbs, adjectives and
Nouns. We use green to identify
prepositions.
He has to do homework.
She is in the classroom.
I play soccer on sundays.
Interjections : Interjections An interjection is a word added to a
sentence to express emotion. It has no
grammatical relation with the rest of the
sentence. We use yellow to identify it Oh no, I forgot that the exam was today!!
Articles : Articles Articles are used to refer to nouns, either in
singular or plural. We use grey to identify
them.
He took an apple.
The boys decided to play soccer.
We have a problem.
Conjunctions : Conjunctions Are used to connect words, sentences or
clauses and transform them in whole ideas.
We use pink to identify Conjunctions.
The Nurses were tired because they worked
a lot.
