Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem Learning and understanding the Book of Allah is fundamental in learning Islaam and following it correctly. One of the first steps toward reaching this goal is to know how to read the Quran properly. To aid in this effort, I, Samiyah Mustafa, tutor children in Quranic reading at my home. I am currently offering private tutoring for these purposes during the academic school year. The curriculum that I base each lesson on is from the Qur’aan (Usmani script only), Ahsanul Qawaaid, and “Graded Steps in Qur’aanic Learning”. Once the student is able to read Arabic easily, I have them start reading the Qur’aan. I have taught in the Qur’an Institute in Rockville, and at the ICM Sunday, Weekday, Evening, and Summer Schools, and I have gained knowledge and experience that has proved to be beneficial when tutoring students privately. It is important to understand that each student is different and going at a different pace. When the student can read Qur’aan fluently, I may also begin memorization, if requested. Also, when the student can read fluently, I will begin their memorization of Surahs. I have been requested to also begin Arabic handwriting, but this is entirely up to the parent (there are books which will be need to be purchased, which are around $6 each—I order them from online). Being a college student, my school schedule changes every three or four months during the year. I will try and adjust my schedule to fit your child’s sessions. Tutoring is offered during the weekdays ONLY. You are free to inform me of your timing preferences, but I will let you know of the final timings for your child’s session. On the next page, please fill out the information under “Timings” to set up the days and times you wish to send your child. To help pay with my college tuition, tutoring session are based on a rate of $12.50 per hour. The following page has my prices broken down. Both the timings and the payment influence each other. If your child comes for more hours per week, there is a higher rate. Payments must be received within the FIRST week of every month. (If needed, negotiations can be made regarding tuition fees.)
