The Association for Art in the Community www.aaccd.org talkingkites2010@gmail.com Talking Kites Worldwide -----– ; – This spring will mark the fifth year that Talking Kites takes flight. Throughout the past few years, thousands of people have participated, in dozens of countries worldwide. The vision of the project is to create a unique language that allows a dialogue to take place between different communities; a language that bears with it a message to any conflict-ridden area. Through this project, I hope to broaden the circles of people who believe that a change like this can be made, as art functions as a significant means to allow a progression towards such a dialogue with the other. The kite, with its groundless and elevated nature, allows us to break through the known borders and barriers. The participants create imagery on the kites-their various feelings of fear, anger and hope, alongside each of their individual dreams, and communicate what they would like to say to the other. On the 21st of March, the first day of spring, kites will be flown simultaneously worldwide. I invite you all to take part in this!
