In order to understand the Word of God one must first believe in God and surrender their heart to His Spirit and trust that He is a rewarder of them who diligently seek Him. Please see Hebrews 11:6 1. Study : 2 Timothy 2:15 2. Prepare (Kuwn) to be perpendicular, set up, fixed, faithful, anything dealing with being ready. 3. Be a doer of the Word (“Just do it.”) James 1:22 4. Use it or lose it. Mark 4:23-25 5. Live what you are taught and teach it to others. Matt 7:29, Mk 1:22 a. Jesus had authority, He knew His craft. Master it. b. Know that the truth will endure Ps 119:18, Mt 24:35, Is 40:8 c. Rightly divide the truth 2 Tim 2:15 (as in number 1.) Act 17:11 Search the scriptures. B. Believe the Bible. The Word was written for a purpose. Don’t believe in part but ALL of the bible. 1. James 2:10 Matt 28:20, Don’t follow Old Testament only. Follow all! 2. Bible (Word of God) gives you hope. Romans 15:4 3. Have life through God’s son John 20:31 4. W.O.G. shows examples of the Human Experience! 1 Co 10:11 5. Gives knowledge of Eternal Life 1 John 5:13 6. The Words are Sacred. De 4:2 , 12:32. Pr 30:6, Rev 22:19 7. Profitable for Instruction of yourself and others. De 4:10, 11:19, 2 Chr 17:9 Is 2:3 C. Logos and Rhema 1. Logos is an expression of thoughts. A concept. Head knowledge. 2. Rhema is that which is spoken or uttered. Heart knowledge. a. 1 Cor. 2:11-14 Dan 12:4 b. God uses His Word to speak to your heart while reading. 3. Faith from W.O.G. Rom 10:17 4. Study to answer others. Pr 15:28 5. Love the truth. 2 Thess 2:9-12 6. The Word of God gives Wisdom Pr 2:1-7 D.
