Presentation on Web-Based Education
Description
This presentation was given to the Division of Perceptual Studies at the University of Virginia in January of 2010 to illustrate the need for web-based education in scientific and academic parapsychology. The live presentation as given concluded with a 30 minute guided tour of educational builds in the virtual world Second Life, including visits to the University of London Medical School respiratory therapy class and to the Jamestown and Powhattan Village builds on VSTE island. In the powerpoint, however, in case the connection to Second Life was lost, I represented The AZIRE Learning Center and The AZIRE Library by Second Life snapshots. Second Life URLs are provided along with the snapshots, so if you have a Second Life account, you can come directly to our builds and explore what they have to offer. The link to the AIPA course in the section on the history of online education in parasychology is not live as this course is no longer hosted on a website. The final slide comes from a traditional we have in presentations to this particular group of adding in something unusual at the end of the presentation under the section title, Something Completely Different. For more information on online education in parapsychology email me at nancy@theazire.org.
