Step Three
What you’ve all been waiting for...learning how to make spiral flowers!!
Let’s get started.
Take the 3 - 4x4 pieces of patterned paper. We are going to draw a spiral on each of the pieces of paper to create our flower. Something to consider when drawing your spiral: * The thickness of these flowers can be quite wide, so therefore making them sit up on your page, like mine. If you like flatter pages, be sure to make your spiral with thinner lines.
So take your 4x4 piece of paper. Draw a spiral on your paper , like this....
Then cut along the lines you have drawn. It should look like this...
Once you’ve cut out your spiral, you’ll need to rub out any pencil marks you’ve made. If you don’t they’ll be seen afterwards.
OK, time to start rolling. Start at the outside and work your way to the centre. Just roll your paper and away you go. It should look like this...
I roll mine reasonably tight. Don’t worry about trying to angle it or anything...that will happen later.
Here’s mine all rolled up.
Once you get here, let it go and it should keep it’s shape if you’ve rolled it tight enough. Then, add some glue to the bottom to hold it together.
Once glued, leave it to dry for a bit and start on your next one. I created three of these little flowers for my page. Up to you, how many you want to add to your page.
My 3 spiral flowers are different sizes, due to the size of my spirals I drew on my 4x4 sized paper. I’d keep in mind how big my matching flowers are, as I’ve used them as flower centres. I have one bigger flower and two smaller ones.
I’ll let you catch up before moving onto Step Four.
