Welcome to 520.  I hope you will find the class both enjoyable useful!  Welcome to CEDo520 Internet Learning Resources 2 Credits   CEDo520 The Internet offers an array of services ranging from traditional services such as email to current and emerging services such as search engines, social networking sites, tools for communication and collaboration, tools for data collection, storage and analysis.  Even very competent computer and Internet users are not necessarily aware of the array of resources now available to support learning, teaching, research and scholarly activities.  The goal of this course is to develop awareness and understanding of these resources, services, proficiency in their use and to learn to apply them wisely and effectively. Prerequisite: Department approval or a working knowledge of programming.     CEDo520 Syllabus (stored as a googledoc)   Hi Everyone,   I am Jim Kasum, the instructor for this course.  I've been with CSU for many years.  Originally a mathematics teacher, I started the department of Educational Computing at Stritch in 1983, as the Department of Instructional Technology was then known.  Over the years more than a thousand people have graduated from our department's programs.  You are part of only the second completely online cohort offered by the program.  I sincerely hope that thus far your experience has been pleasant and professionally useful.  I will try my best to help this course to be that way.       Each week we will gather via a WiZiQ session.  In order to preserve bandwidth, we will text chat and I will turn on my microphone.  We will see how well this works.  Let's try to meet Monday evenings at 8PM for at most one hour.  I check my email at least once each day and will make every effort to respond to mail within a day.  We will use our class wiki and/or google docs for assignment submissions.  I know that you've been keeping your personal blog throughout the program thus far.  It's a general program requirement so we will continue that.  I look forward to spending the next four weeks with you in this course.         Jim     jkkasum@gmail.com
