FEAR revessie.@yahoo.com /January 19,2010 I. What is fear? Fear is the absence of faith. The enemy of your souls places it there to rob you of the very many blessings that God has for you. Miriam Webster describes if as: an unpleasant often strong emotion caused by expectation or awareness of danger. An anxious concern. Phobia. Apprehension. A. Types of Fear: 1. Cowardice -one with low self esteem a. Numbers 13:33 giants and grasshoppers b. I Samuel 17:24 Israel before Goliath c. 2 Sam 15:14 David at the time of Absolom's rebellion d. Matt 26:56 Disciples left Jesus in Garden with soldiers e. John 6:66 Disciples left Jesus f. Fear will cause you to turn your back on God in times of trouble. 2. Servility, servitude a. Ex 14:12 better to serve as a slave than free b. Jud 6:2 you'll dwell in strongholds rather than fight. c. 1 Kings 20:4 Because of fear, leaders give in to their enemies. 1. Choose you this day whom ye will serve. 2. Ahab was running the Kingdom through/wife Jezebel. (Not descent nor in order.) 3. Faintheartedness a. Lev 26:36 God can make your enemies weak at heart. b. The fainthearted will all leave leaving behind the stronger ones. c. In this ministry one must be strong to walk with me. 4. Guilta. Genesis 3:8 Adam and Eve's guilt caused them to hide. b.
