2 Chronicles 36 : 2 Chronicles 36 14 Moreover all the leaders of the priests and the people transgressed more and more, according to all the abominations of the nations, and defiled the house of the LORD which He had consecrated in Jerusalem. 15 And the LORD God of their fathers sent warnings to them by His messengers, rising up early and sending them, because He had compassion on His people and on His dwelling place. 16 But they mocked the messengers of God, despised His words, and scoffed at His prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against His people, till there was no remedy. 17 Therefore He brought against them the king of the Chaldeans, who killed their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion on young man or virgin, on the aged or the weak; He gave them all into his hand.

2 Chronicles 36 : 2 Chronicles 36 18 And all the articles from the house of God, great and small, the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king and of his leaders, all these he took to Babylon. 19 Then they burned the house of God, broke down the wall of Jerusalem, burned all its palaces with fire, and destroyed all its precious possessions. 20 And those who escaped from the sword he carried away to Babylon, where they became servants to him and his sons until the rule of the kingdom of Persia, 21 to fulfill the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her Sabbaths. As long as she lay desolate she kept Sabbath, to fulfill seventy years.

JEREMIAH • Mission & Message : JEREMIAH • Mission & Message Restoration is seen throughout the book The Potter’s House (Chapter 18) "O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?" says the LORD. "Look, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel! (18:6)

JEREMIAH • concerning the “Son of David” : JEREMIAH • concerning the “Son of David” Jehoiachin (Coniah) was the last of the unbroken lineage from Solomon Jeremiah 22:28-30 "Is this man Coniah a despised, broken idol -- A vessel in which is no pleasure? Why are they cast out, he and his descendants, And cast into a land which they do not know? O earth, earth, earth, Hear the word of the LORD! Thus says the LORD: 'Write this man down as childless, A man who shall not prosper in his days; For none of his descendants shall prosper, Sitting on the throne of David, And ruling anymore in Judah.' "

JEREMIAH • concerning the “Son of David” : JEREMIAH • concerning the “Son of David” Christ is the “Son of David” Lineage traced through Joseph (son of Jacob) on Solomon’s side (Matt 1:6) from Abraham (Jewish lineage) “Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus who is called Christ.” (Matt 1:16) Lineage traced through Mary (Joseph, son [in-law] of Heli) to Nathan, another son of David (Luke 3:31) to Adam, son of God (Gentile lineage)

Christ is the “Son of David” : Christ is the “Son of David” Matt 1:6 - and Jesse begot David the king. David the king begot Solomon by her who had been the wife of Uriah. (reverse order) Luke 3:31 - the son of Melea, the son of Menan, the son of Mattathah, the son of Nathan, the son of David,

The False Prophet … : The False Prophet … … is corrupt in his own life. … corrupts the word. He bends the message to what people want to hear Promises peace to those who despise God’s Word. Uses religious phrases to authenticate his authority. Jeremiah 23:21 “I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran. I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.” Jeremiah 23:22 “But if they had stood in My counsel, And had caused My people to hear My words, Then they would have turned them from their evil way And from the evil of their doings.” … claims his message is from God. Jeremiah 23:16 “Thus says the LORD of hosts: “Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They make you worthless; They speak a vision of their own heart, Not from the mouth of the LORD.” (See 23:16-40)

Hallmarks of a True Prophet : Hallmarks of a True Prophet They learn directly from God’s counsel (23:18). The message is faithfully delivered (23:28). The message causes people to turn from evil. He does not avoid the truth of the wrath of God toward sin.

Lamentations 3:21-25 : Lamentations 3:21-25 This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. Through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. "The LORD is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I hope in Him!" The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him.
