Slide 3 : Growth Restrictors
Lack of Fellowship
Little Attention to Guests (Souls)
Inappropriate Pursuit of Newly Baptized
Slide 4 : Biblical Answer
Act 2:42
And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
Slide 5 : Family Reunions
A Fellowship of Family Reunions
This Biblical method will produce good results wherever it is used.
We have to view it as one of the main activities of the church.
Activities within the church building alone will not produce the intended results.
Slide 6 : Home Visitation
History teaches us the CHURCH grew for 300 years without a building.
Some have used their lack of a building as an excuse for their lack of growth.
Slide 7 : Home Evangelism
Rom 16:3-5
3 Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus:
4 Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles.
5 Likewise greet the church that is in their house.
Acts 5:42
42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.
Slide 8 : Home Fellowship
We need to remember that in the church the people listen to us, but in these meetings we listen and help them to meet their spiritual needs.
Home Fellowships are a BRIDGE to the congregation.
Slide 9 : Where is the BRIDGE?
Various reasons people come to Christ:
* Special need 1%
* They arrived by themselves 2.3%
* The Pastor 1.2%
* Visitations 1.2%
* Sunday school 4.5%
* Evangelist campaigns 0.5%
* A church program 2.3%
* A friend or family 75.9%
Slide 10 : Unity
The Early church was characterized by the unity between them.
Acts 2:44, 46-47
44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
Slide 11 : Unity
Acts 2:46-47
46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
Slide 12 : Group Size
It is recommended that a group consist of 12 members,
For GOOD care of members in the meeting,
Also for suitable FELLOWSHIP
And better advantage in the TEACHING.
Slide 13 : Life Groups
Life Groups (Home Fellowships) are useful for developing gifts and ministries within the believers.
Each of us can serve the Lord in a fuller capacity.
Potential within believers not yet discovered.
The church is the body of Christ; we are His members. Nature teaches us that if a member of the body does not exercise, this it will atrophy and lose its function.
Slide 14 : Leaders or Facilitators
You are only a leader when others will follow, not just cooperate!
Qualified leaders will produce growth in a group.
Qualities would include spiritual unction (prayer), scriptural understanding (study), an encourager, and wisdom.
Life Groups help us to identify leaders.
