Objectives The combination of the computer and the Internet has created an incredible marketplace. We will examine the foundation, operation and implications of the Internet economy. Topics include Internet technologies, online market mechanisms, interactive customers, knowledge-based products, smart physical products and services, pricing in the internet economy, online auctions and e-marketplaces, policies for the internet economy and an outlook for the new economy. Students will participate in an Internet shopping experience, analyze a company that focuses on e-commerce and write a research paper.
Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to:
1. buy and sell product online.
2. how to pay online.
3. how online auctions and e-marketplaces works.
5. what is the concept of personalization and customization .
4. Compare e-commerce process to a traditional shopping experience.
