Gillie Salmon Model of Teaching and Learning Online : Gillie Salmon Model of Teaching and Learning Online Stage 1: Access and Motivation The purpose of this stage is to expose participants to the platform and to enable them to become successful with the technology used during the course. Technical support needs to be available widely. Stage 1 is generally over when participants have posted their first messages

Gillie Salmon Model of Teaching and Learning Online : Gillie Salmon Model of Teaching and Learning Online Stage 2: Online Socialisation Participants become familiar with the online environment Tutor creates opportunities for socialisation and help participants to understand how contact with other participants will contribute to their own learning Tutor should promote mutual respect and help participants with same interest to identify each others
