قَلْب/اِقْلاَب Iqlaab literally means “to turn over” or “to change”. Conventionally, if Noon Saakinah or Tanween is followed by ب, it is converted into a hidden م . The reader should do Ghunnah for two seconds. This conversion is called Iqlaab. The ruling of ghunnah in this case is exactly the same as that in Ikhfaa Shafawee (from the meem rules): Ghunnah for two seconds. There are two opinions for this type of Ghunnah-1. Ghunnah should be pronounced completely from the nose. So if the reader pinches his nose while pronouncing Ghunnah, his voice should stop completely. 2. Ghunnah pronounced partly from the nose and partly from the mouth. Therefor, if the reader closes his mouth or his nose, the voice should only get low but shouldn’t stop completely.
