General Information about Twitter : General Information about Twitter Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read messages known as tweets.Tweets are text–based posts of up to 140 characters
Twitter allows to communicate with friends, family and co-workers about your day to day experiences and activities
Twitter is a place where you only need to answer one question “What are you doing?”
Instead of sending an e-mail to your friends you can just post an update to Twitter and they¨ll all see it along with the other things you´ve been up to and if your friends are using Twitter you will see what they are doing too.
Twitter is highly mobile because you can broadcast and receive messages from your computer or cell phone

Twit Board:Notify sts of changes to course content, schedules, venues or other important information.
Summing up:Ask sts to read an article or chapter and then posttheir brief summary or precis. A limit of 140 characters demands a lot of academic discipline.In other words sts develop the skill of thinking and writing in up to 140 characters
Twit links: Have sts regularly share one new hyperlink to a useful site they have found.
Twitter Stalking :Follow a famous person and document their progress.Better still if this can be linked to an event .e.g Barack Obama
Time Tweet: Choose a famous person from the past and create a Twitter account for them, writing tweets in the role of that character.e.g Shakespeare
Micro Write: Progressive collaborative writing on Twitter. Students agree to take it in turns to contribute to an account or “story” over a period of time.
Twitter pals: Encourage students to find a Twitter penpal and regularly converse with them over a period of time to find out about their culture, hobbies, friends, family, etc.
Rule based writing: Sts develop the skilll of thinking in messages and writing messages of up to 140 characters.
Track a word: Sts can see the varied phrases in which people use it (cf to google a word). Other things sts can track are events, proper names, movie titles and store names as Starbucks, for example.
Instant Feedback: Because Twitter is always on and can get pushed to the cell phone sts can get instant feedback .They can use this when doing their classwork, for instant trying to understand the material.

Class Chatter : T noticed most conversations-though not related to class materials-continued inside and outside the class.
Classroom community: Students developed a sense of each other as people beyond the classroom and the results were
