Google Groups : Google Groups Purpose: to help users connect with people, access information, and communicate effectively via e-mail or the web (Google Groups, 2009).

Group Files : Group Files Uploading a file on Google Groups
Opening a file on Google Groups
Task:
Open the document named ‘Creating a Google Group’
Write on the whiteboard one step listed on the document
Creating a Google Group : Creating a Google Group Click on Groups
Click on Create
Fill in the form which includes:
Name your group
Create a group e-mail
Write a description of your group
Select access level
Type in security word displayed on your screen
Invite others
Any Questions?
Members : Members Edit member permissions (if you are the group creator) Invite people to join group
Pages : Pages Pages are used to share information with other group members.
Task:
What information do you think your organisation would share via the Google pages feature?

Google Calendar : Google Calendar Sharing your Google Calendar with your Google Group members
In Google Calendar, create a calendar you'd like to share with your group.
Click "Settings"
In the "Calendars" tab, click on the name of the calendar you'd like to share.
Click "Share this calendar."
Enter the email addresses of your group members (Google Groups Support, 2009)
Discussions : Discussions Allows members to keep in touch

Google Alerts : Google Alerts Groups Alert is an email that lets you know when new message appear in your Google Groups search results
Set up is the same as setting up a Google Alert
