CTE teachers will emphasize Reading/Language Arts across their curriculum. Performance Indicator 1S1
Career Development Coordinator will discuss and encourage Academically Disadvantaged students to select courses to help develop good reading skills necessary for employment or advanced education. Performance Indicator 1S2
Business teachers will identify Reading/Language Arts competencies in course blueprints and place emphasis on them during the instructional period. Performance Indicator 1S1
All CTE teachers are receiving staff development in Classroom Instruction That Works (CITW), the Robert Marzano research-based strategies for improving student achievement. Performance Indicator 2S1
Special Populations Coordinators will assist special populations students with their research projects to reinforce language arts skills. Performance Indicator 1S1
IMS coordinator will revise the new NC career cluster document to include only the courses and clusters that are offered in XYZ County. Performance Indicator 3S1
CTE Director will provide a selection of reading strategies at the beginning of the school year to CTE teachers and encourage their use in the classroom. Performance Indicator 1S1

As equipment is updated at the middle school level, there will be a focus on linking mathematics to purchases and purchases to career growth and student interest. The CTE Director will ensure that these focuses are highlighted as equipment is upgraded. Performance Indicator 2S1
CTE teachers will be encouraged to display posters, show videos, and visit websites that depict non-traditional roles for their students. Performance Indicator 6S1
Marketing students will use periodicals to hone their personal communication skills and to refine their writing technique. Performance Indicator 1S1
Internet searches will be performed as the basis for a reading/writing project based on career choices for students in Career Decisions and Career Management classes. Performance Indicator 1S1
The CDC, counselors and teachers will work with all rising 9th graders to review/complete a Career Development Plan. Performance Indicator 2S1
CTE teachers will investigate and implement new technology for students to use to hold their interest in reading such as ipods or a kendall 2 book reader which is receiving rave reviews especially for youth. Performance Indicator 1S1
Central Office ESL staff will provide information as needed to CDC/SPC at middle and high schools from their reports. Performance Indicator 1S2
CDCs/SPCs will work collaboratively with teachers of all College Tech Prep students to develop procedures or programs to enhance reading skills for these students. Performance Indicator 1S1
CTE Marketing teachers will incorporate reading modules in all of their course projects. Performance Indicator 1S2
CTE Director, Program Specialist, and IMC will meet with school personnel to inform them of this performance indicator by September 30th. Performance Indicator 4S1
CTE teachers will incorporate assignments that reinforce math skills relevant in each CTE course by collaborating with core math teachers during their planning period as needed. Performance Indicator 1S2
The CDCs and CTE teachers will continue to identify and develop strategies within their math rich lesson plans to accommodate all students including special population students. Performance Indicator 1S2
CTE teachers will use data to determine math skills of students and identify students who need additional help in reaching math standards. Performance Indicator 1S2
CTE Educators will include a math component in lesson plans. Performance Indicator 1S2
The CTE Director will provide necessary supplies and equipment based on needs and availability of funds. Performance Indicator 2S1
Business teachers will meet and confer with each other in an effort to identify strategies for improving student mastery and VoCATs scores. Performance Indicator 3S1
