They are generally more approachable if they are sitting down. Think parks, squares and civic spaces where people take a break from their busy day. Task Sheet 1. In pairs, students ask questions about the activities pictured: ‘Have you ever been water skiing?’ Monitor and then ask four pairs to demonstrate. Highlight different possible answers on the board and some adjectives to answer ‘What’s it like?’ A. Students answer questions relating to the grammar to elicit form and use. Elicit correct answers and highlight these on the board. This is to show present perfect with no specific past time reference. 1. Have + past participle. 2. Past simple for a specific time in the past. 3. At any time. Never. B. Students practice examples of the affirmative, negative and interrogative forms of the present perfect. Ask the students to fill in the past participles. Task Sheet 2. C. Exercises to practise using Present Perfect. Fill in the missing words in the conversations. The students then write and act out the conversations on the three other topics.
