COUNTABLE AND UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS
NOUNS ARE DIVIDED IN : countable and uncountable.
Countable nouns are things you can count.
For example: one pear, two pears, three pears, four carrots
Countable Nouns: Can be used in Singular and Plural.
For example:
Singular Plural
A hat hats
an apple apples
Uncountable nouns are things you see as a whole, things you can not count.
Uncountable nouns has only one form.
For example:
water
jelly
chicken
*SOME -is used with uncountable nouns in affirmative sentences.
Eg: She’s got SOME juice in the kitchen.
*SOME is also used with plural countable nouns in affirmative sentences.
Eg: There are SOME students absent today.
*ANY is used in questions and negative sentences with uncountable nouns
Have you got any sugar?
I haven’t got any sugar
*ANY is used in negative sentences and questions with plural countable nouns
Are there Any sweets on the drawer?
There aren’t Any bananas .
