Paint : Paint How to resize photos
WHY? : WHY?
WHAT? : WHAT?
How? : How? Quick demo - whole task
slowly - step by step
Activity to complete on your own after the session (evaluate learning)
Open Paint Program : Open Paint Program Click on the start button
Go to All Programs
Select Accessories
Click on Paint
Find Image : Find Image File / Open…
Navigate to where you stored your picture on your computer
Click on the Open button
Yes, too big – but how big is it? : Yes, too big – but how big is it? Click on Image then on Attributes….
Attributes…oops : Attributes…oops Do NOT use Attributes, width & height to resize your picture…as it chops off the image
Resize : Resize Click on Image then on Stretch/Skew
What size? : What size? My picture was width: 500 & height: 635
I want my picture to be about 100 width, that’s 1/5th of the original size - so I want 1/5th of 100%. (100 / 5 = 20)
I will use 20% for both the Horizontal & Vertical Stretch sizes. This will ensure my picture remains at the same ratio (eg: not too tall & thinor wide & fat)
Done – but remember… : Done – but remember…
…to Save it! : …to Save it! File / Save
I usually put it in a new folder named web_100w
Or
Add 100w to the name of the image (eg: Jenni_100w)
On Your Own Activity : On Your Own Activity Email - save the files onto your computer

Complete the activity
Email the resized photo back to me!
