Slide 2 :

Slide 3 : Department Mission (May 2008) The Instructional Technology Department Mission is to prepare program participants to be champions in the integration of technology in their professional and personal lives.

Slide 4 : Overview The online M.E. in Instructional Technology  program focuses upon curricular integration of technology in support of K-12 student learning. The program emphasizes how to effectively use computers and digital media technologies as tools to enhance learning, teaching, and training; how to effectively integrate technologies into the curriculum; and how to assume a leadership role in planning, implementing, and supporting instructional technology within a district. K-12 educators, including teachers, principals and other administrators, looking for guided experiences in Web 2.0 tools will benefit from this program. In addition, members of the business community who also need to become users of Web-based tools will find this program valuable. This program is fully online with no required face-to-face meetings. Learning occurs through the development of projects, many of which are collaborative in nature. Program delivery will use Web 2.0 applications such as wikis and Google.docs that can be readily found on the Web.

Slide 6 : I love teaching people about technology. After almost three decades teaching middle school math & social studies at Badger Middle School in West Bend I became the Administrator of Technology for the West Bend Schools. July, 2005 was the start of a new adventure, I'm retired. Way more fun than work. In my spare time I teach at Cardinal Stritch University where I am an Adjunct Assistant Professor. I love my work at Stritch and I am proud of the fact that we have trained many of the tech savvy teachers and administrators in this area. After 20+ years of not playing I am back to the guitar. It has become my main relaxation technique. John Sklar
