Who is eligible? : Who is eligible? All alumni that have participated in the program over the past three years (2007, 2008, 2009) that have successfully completed all program requirements and are in good standing.
What is the alumni small grants program? : What is the alumni small grants program? Opportunity to design and implement educational projects to benefit secondary education in your home community.
Where can projects be implemented? : Where can projects be implemented? Projects proposed under the alumni small grants program must be implemented in one of the following countries:
Algeria, Bangladesh, Brazil, Ecuador, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Morocco, Philippines, Senegal, South Africa, Tunisia or Venezuela
Grant categories available : Grant categories available Collaborative School Grant:
Provides funding for programs/projects that benefit teachers and/or students of the primary applicants’ home country in partnership with a collaborator.
Funding available from $500 up to $5,000.

Provides funding for programs/projects that benefit the teachers and/or students of the applicants’ home country BUT does not involve any collaborators.
Funding available from $500 up to $5,000.

Provides funding for professional development activities that benefit an ILEP alumni country cohort.
Applicants are required to collaborate with at least one other ILEP alumnus to implement the project in their country.

Provides funding for programs that benefit ILEP alumni’s community at-large.
Funding available from $500 up to $5,000.

Statement of Need : Statement of Need The statement of need explains:
The issue/ problem/need that you will address with the implementation of your project.
How the project will impact your school/community?
Why this project/program is important to you?
Project Goals and Objectives : Project Goals and Objectives The goal of a project is the overall purpose toward which program activities are directed. Goals are generally intangible, meaning they cannot be measured.
Objectives are the intended target outcome(s) of a project. Objectives are tangible (concrete) and measurable.
Targeted Beneficiaries : Targeted Beneficiaries Identifies who will benefit directly and indirectly from your project.
Here are some questions that you need to ask:
How many people will my project impact directly?
Who are the people that will receive an indirect benefit from my project?
Where are they located?
Project Collaborator(s)’ Roles : Project Collaborator(s)’ Roles Who is a collaborator?
A collaborator can be a teacher/administrator from an ILEP host internship secondary school, ILEP host university administrator/faculty member and/or ILEP alumni from any ILEP program year, and any participating country.
Project Collaborator(s)’ Roles : Project Collaborator(s)’ Roles The roles and responsibilities of the principal applicant and where applicable, the collaborator (s) during each step of the proposed project.
Program Activities : Program Activities Each activity should include the following information:
What will you do?
When will you do it?
How long will the activity take to implement (days, months, etc)?
How will you plan to implement the activity?
If implementing a workshop, an illustrative workshop agenda should be included as supporting material.
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) : Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Describe how you will evaluate the impact of the project in the school or community once the project is complete.
The M&E plan should be able to assess how many, and to what degree, program objectives were met.
The evaluation measures whether the project activities achieved the anticipated results.
Project Timeline : Project Timeline An illustration of how your project will be implemented chronologically.
The timeline includes all step-by-step tasks that you will have to carry out to implement your project such as pre-planning, implementation, and post-program, and reporting activities against a calendar.
Budget and Notes : Budget and Notes The budget is the reflection of your project in numbers; therefore, it should include all the necessary costs to carry out every step and activity in your project.
Budget notes should articulate how you arrived at your cost estimates (e.g. $20 per-diem for 10 teachers x 2 days = $400).
Supporting Materials : Supporting Materials Applicant and collaborator (s) CVs- max. 2 pages long
Support letter from participating U.S. and international schools;
Support letter from primary applicant’s home school that also certifies full-time teaching employment in a secondary school;
If school support letters are not submitted with the application, it is the responsibility of the finalist to secure the support letter in order to receive the award funds.
