Study Reading is the Reading Style used by Flexible Readers when their Purpose is to Read Difficult Material at a High Level of Comprehension. When Using the Study Reading Style, you should Read at a Rate that is Slower than your Normal Reading Rate. Further, as you Read you must Challenge yourself to Understand the Material. Study Reading will often require you to read Material more than once to achieve a high Level of Comprehension. Sometimes, Reading the Material aloud will also help you Improve your Comprehension.

Preview Before Class : 5 Preview Before Class Need about 15 minutes Have a “quick look” at your text Skim lecture notes Purpose To have an idea about what you’ll do To identify difficult topics, concepts and Procedures

Points identified as easy: The points that you thought you understood Do they match with what is explained? Points identified as difficult: Time to wake up and listen carefully! A full-time student takes 15 credit hours S/HeNeeds 15 X 3 = 45 hours/week for lectures + studying A week has 7 X 24 = 168 hours So you have 168 – 45 = 123 hours to eat, sleep, prey and do whatever you want.

Full-time : 18 Full-time When you start working “full-time” Your employer will expect you to work for 45+ hours per week As a “full-time student” Your professors expect you to study for only 45 hours Are we asking too much? I hope not.
