Metaphysical Tools - Practical Applications : Metaphysical Tools - Practical Applications The main purpose of metaphysical study is to put you in touch with your divine nature, called your Higher Self. This is not as esoteric as it sounds. The mental tools used also work on a very physical level. You will do through changes as you study because you will be confronted with and remove any mental blocks of prejudices, anger, fears and resentments. This will effect you on a physical level. As you work on your attitudes and meditate to achieve higher levels of consciousness which brings changes at a very deep cellular level.

Over a period of time with ongoing metaphysical techniques, you will go through a series of noticeable changes:

Any "negative" habits you have will become unpleasant to you and you will feel a great urge to change them. 2. You will find you are more tolerant of others. 3. You will not get as depressed as you once did; however, this is not to say you will not have your own negative emotions to work through. It will seem easier to understand and correct them.

If there are any health problems present, you will intuitively know which physician, health practitioner or methodology to follow to help you cope and/or recover. Develop Concentration Learning to concentrate so that the mind is locked onto its subject will increase your productivity. This also helps calm a worried or cluttered mind forcing it to focus on one thing and putting all others into perspective. Also, with deep concentration you can visualize effectively.

That is concentration and if you are truly concentrating you cannot be distracted. Bring it back when it does. Doing this will prevent you from worrying about yesterday or tomorrow because your attention is in the now. When in the now, ask yourself what learning experience you're being offered; how can you help someone now; how do you feel about life right now?

Using Visualization Visualization is the greatest tool available for building a blueprint of how we want our lives to be. The art of visualizing is used in sports, healing and self-improvement programs. Concentration develops the ability to see clearly in the mind how we want to act, feel or look.

Observing The Mind This exercise requires a few moments a day and will put you in touch with your psychological self. Sit as if you were ready to meditate and relax. Now with your eyes closed watch the patterns of your thoughts as they wander from one thing to another. Do you worry a lot about the past, present or future? Is money, an intimate relationship, children or a job the main focus of your thoughts? You can learn more about yourself than you ever believed possible by observing your mind. You can work on whatever issue, or issues, seem to be uppermost in your thoughts and learn to focus your thoughts away from these worries.

The emotion of fear produced with this combination is useless and destructive. Obviously a healthy amount of fear is required in physical life to protect the body. However, to your Higher Self fear is a major block and a product of an undisciplined mind. To conquer fear, get rid of worry and doubt.

Use the word "cancel" every time you have a negative thought and make an affirmation to use after you cancel something. For example, "I am a Divine Being, only good comes to me."

Listen to Your Intuition Most of the time you work out of your conscious, logical mind and call the intuitive feedback you receive from you Higher Self, "just a feeling." WHen you learn to tap into those feelings and act on your intuition instead of just stuffing it away into a compartment of the subconscious, you are beginning to learn to flow with life and not fight it.

Women has a particular problem with false guilt since they have been programmed to believe they should not be successful. However, men have the other side of that coin and have been programmed by society with the belief they have to be successful to be acceptable. Of course, success is relative to your interpretation and defined by your needs and desires.

We have been programmed with a series of erroneous messages. No matter whom you blame, the fact is these messages are manipulative, self-condemning and wrong. This could be because Western society, and, perhaps societies all over the world, have never accepted the idea of growth and change. Anything that threatens the old ways of doing things and living are condemned by society.

The majority of the masses do not like to appear wrong or different, so it is easier to criticize and condemn those who are somehow different than it is to change. It seems that the general consensus is often that the status quo is more comfortable, even if it is not working, than changing to something unknown.
