Our Weapons for Spiritual Warfare "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds." 2 Cor 10:4 Know that our weapons are not of the world or of the flesh, but spiritual weapons to defeat the enemy. 1. Defensive weapons Ephesians 6:1 1-13, we stand against, to withstand in the evil day, and having done all ..... stand. 2. Resist the devil and he will flee James 4:7 3. Istresis the devil and stand against him before we go out after him. God is the defensive weapons. A. Girdle of Truth -area of protection -loins the reproductive area of your body. 1. Attacks made by lies, false doctrine, spiritual error. 2. Defense is truth -truth of God's Word that sets you free. John 8:32 B. Breastplate of righteousness -area of protection, our chest contains all of our vital organs. Heart! 1. Attack: condemnation, unforgiveness. Defense righteousness, love of God 1 Thess 5:8 C. Preparation of the gospel of peace. Area of protection -feet, your feet is what carries you from place 2 place. 1 . They keep you in balance. Gospel keeps you in a healthy balance. 2. Attack -slothfulness, laziness, unbalanced teaching, murmuring and complaining Num. 21:4-5 3. Defense -dying to self, being prepared study. 2 Tim 2:15, 4:2 the peace of God. D. Shield of Faith -area of protection -the whole body 1. Attack -unbelief, doubt, fear. 2. Defense-praying one for another, feed on the Word to take it up Rom 10:17 steadfast, no double mindedness, have a single eye, single-mindedness. You have to pick it up! E. Helmet of salvation-area of protection 1 . Head, mind, the ruling part of your body. 2. Attack --evil imaginations, lies 3. Defense -hope 1 Thess 5:8, think on God, on things of good report. Phil 4:8 commit your works unto God and He will establish your thoughts. (Make sure, stable, permanent.) Do not feed on garbage. Pull down any thought that are not of God. 2 Cor 10:5 F. Sword of the Spirit -the Sword here is a small dagger. It is used for CLOSE combat. Eph6:12 wrestle. 1. Attack: God's Word is not true, (so the devil says.) and your circumstances. 2. Defense: walk in faith, continue to USE the Word! G. Prayer: Pray with ALL kinds of prayers. 1 . Attack: rob your prayer-life. Not praying in ALL kinds of prayers. 2. Defense: be steadfast and persevering. Continue in all kinds of prayers w/o ceasing, for others. II. Offensive Weapons A. Blood of Jesus Rev 12: 11 Only by the blood can sin be washed away. 1 John 1:7 There is a need to preach and teach the protection of the Blood of the Lamb. (Passover Story tells it all.) . Word of God -use the Word to attack! Mat 4:4, 7, 10 "it is written" Eph6'17 He 4-12 the Word cuts deep. Overcome because of the Word. Rev 12:1 1, 1 John 2:14 Hold your Peace and allow God to fight your battles through the Word. Jesus IS the Word. Ex 14: 14, 2 Chron 20: 17 :. Know the Word: know it better than the devil does! ! ! !
