Proposal for the research (Gender and welfare) Topic – The situation of 3rd country migrants and their chances on the labour market : a comparison of Austrian, Finnish and Lithuanian cases; Structure approach: Migration to Europe of 3rd country citizens (common view) Interdependency between gender and immigrants position Analysis of the issue of the immigrants form 3rd world countries in each country (number; what problems they face with; how the states solve this problem) Recoginition and nostrifications of qualifications – waste of potential? Growing up in two cultures – potentials and chances of young migrants Comparative view of these countries Possible proposals for solution and approaches Recommendations and conclusions Methods Besides literature analysis (in order to see how legislations adopted in each country fit to reality, analysis of the documents related to this issue will be done) we would like to complete our research by using interviews with migrants (how they describe their situation from their point of view) and experts as well. For the analysis of the gathered information phemenographic research method will be used. Phenomenographic research method is a qualitative research method in order to investigate different understanding of reality.
