APPLIED MECHANICS II GET 252 : APPLIED MECHANICS II GET 252
COURSE OBJECTIVES & GOALS : COURSE OBJECTIVES & GOALS Objective This course will attempt to apply much of the engineering principles learnt in Applied Mechanics I to the analysis of situations involving static loads on materials. The contents will be useful for a wide range of applications in all branches of engineering.
Goals
Compute the stress and strain due to external forces
Determine the stress in 2-dimensional stress system
Determine the shear forces and bending moments for simply supported beams, overhanging and cantilever beams.
Determine the deflection on simple beams.
Compute the critical loads on columns subjected to buckling.
Course Web PageThe course web page is http://www.get252.htmlplanet.com/The course web page will be used for messages and announcements, transfer data and programs, and browse your currents grades and standing in the course. Make it a habit to look-over this page at least a couple times per week
