As a participant in the Secondary Numeracy Project your school is required to collect and record student achievement data using the numeracy assessment tool (NumPA). In 2009 this data is to be entered into the e-asTTle data base.
There are several different types of role necessary to support the access and recording of data:
Teacher
Allows the entering of data, as well as the viewing of results and reports (usually this would include the ISF, HOD and any support person who may be entering data)
School Administrator
Allows the uploading of school details from SMS, in addition to other e-asTTle administrative activities
School Leader
The School Leader is the person(s) within each school who has the authority to grant External Coordinators (SNP facilitators, coordinators, researchers, etc) access to their school data. The School Leader is typically a Principal, Deputy Principal, or HOD.
External Coordinator
The External Coordinator is the person(s) that will be providing professional support, guidance and direction to the cluster. Usually the External Coordinator would be the SNP regional facilitator who is supporting your school.
Usernames & Passwords
In preparation for using the e-asTTle data base applications for usernames and passwords (for accessing e-asTTle) are necessary. All e-asTTle users from your school (teachers, school administrator and school leader) will require an ESAA username and password – these can be obtained by completing the attached e-asTTle Access Request Form v7 School Roles (one for each user).
(Please note that the e-asTTle Access Request Form should not be completed for any person that already has an ESAA username and password – these people should contact the Sector Service Desk to arrange access to e-asTTle.)
System Requirements for using e-asTTle
e-asTTle will work most effectively if each computer used to access e-asTTle meets the specified system requirements. Please find attached the system requirements for e-asTTle.
Training
Training for entry of NumPA data will be provided by your SNP regional coordinator.
Training for other features of e-asTTle is available to your school via the Ministry of Education's Training Services team. If you would like to take advantage of this training, training can be booked for a date and time that is suitable to you via the e-Admin Training website (http://www.e-admintraining.co.nz). Alternatively, the same training can be accessed as self-paced modules, which can be played at your convenience. These self-paced modules are also available via the e-Admin Training website.
