You too? The good new is that we can do something about the state of the world. When we help those who are in need, we find hope and optimism, instead of fear and despair. The Blog with Heart challenge By joining the Blog With Heart challenge, we can make a difference. Which blog community has the greatest heart? Each blog will compete to alleviate poverty during the month of May 2009. How are we going to alleviate poverty? Well, I think giving people a hand-up is better than giving a hand-out. That’s why the BLOG WITH HEART challenge is going to join forces with Kiva, a micro-lending non profit organization. They are well respected. Even Bill Clinton and Oprah sing their praises. Ok now: how does Kiva work? What is Kiva? Kiva is a non-profit website that allows you to lend as little as $25 to a specific low-income entrepreneur in the developing world. You choose who to lend to - a baker in Afghanistan, a goat herder in Uganda, a farmer in Peru - and as they repay the loan, you get your money back.
