Slide 9 : COMM Process in AIESEC Communication is the fundamental process with which we interact with everybody else in our organization and build our working and personal relationships."Communication processes“ that we engage in AIESEC include: Motivating and encouraging others to act! Teaching, learning and giving feedback! Recognizing successes and achievements! Developing and committing to shared plans! Reporting and tracking our progress and experiences!

Slide 10 : Benefits Some concrete examples of what effective internal communication can achieve: Members can make more decisions themselves since they have the tools and knowledge to know the "right" decisions in line with the organization’s goals EBs can identify better with the goals, mission and procedures of the organization, which can result in a sense of "making a difference" and increase effort and efficiency. Teams and functional areas share more resources and information resulting in less duplication of work and stronger impact as a whole organization

Slide 12 : Communication Strategy & Communication Plan

Slide 13 : What is COMM Strategy Here you plan how you want to develop and maintain your longer-term relationships with your all your main audiences. For example for an MC, this could define the channels, topics and approaches to interact with LCPs, functional LCVPs, interns, LC members in TR, AI and with other MCs for country partnerships. The COMM strategy in AIESEC includes Communication Plans for internal and external audiences.

Slide 14 : Components! Implementation & evaluation

Slide 15 : Goal Supporting your general vision and plan (AIESEC 2010, MC plan...). Focus on one major problem in your country/LC that can be improved through better communication! Comm strategy should be integrated within the organization’s overall structure and strategic plan.

Slide 16 : Goal

Slide 17 : Communication Objectives! Your communication objectives differ from your goal in that they are more specific and measurable, and should all build towards your goal.

Slide 18 : Communication Objectives!

Slide 19 : Target Audiences Having a clear picture of your audience is particularly important when you come to the next part ‘Identifying tools and tactics.’ Who do you need to engage with to achieve your objectives? Who do you need to make it happen?

Slide 20 : Target Audiences

Slide 21 : Key Messages These messages do not have to be complex; it could be something as simple as possible. What are you trying to get people to think, feel or do? The message does not have to be explicit in every communication, rather, the context, medium, frequency etc. of the communication should imply the message.

Slide 22 : Key Messages

Slide 23 : Which are the most effective channels to reach your audience? Channels/Tools/Tactics A tool is a medium of communication, the instrument that you can use to reach your audience, while a tactic is the manner in which you use the tool.

Slide 24 : Channels

Slide 25 : Tactics

Slide 26 : Implementation & evaluation For each tactic you have selected, you need to identify whose responsibility it is to complete it and a timeframe for its completion (or a schedule if it is a regular task).  How successful have the different channels & tactics been?

Slide 27 : Implementation & evaluation

Communication plan : Communication plan Here you plan your communication around a particular topic, issue or event that is currently important to you. This could for example be the promotion of a conference, an education campaign or a matching mania.
